Minimum order quantities for white label seasoning, explained

Our minimum is 50 units, format depending, with no upper limit. That is the whole answer. What follows is why the number is what it is, what "format depending" means, and how to think about your first run.

Why minimums exist

A blender's cost is mostly in the set-up, not the blend. Weighing out a recipe, cleaning down between products, printing a label run and checking a batch against its specification take the same time whether you make 50 jars or 5,000. Most blenders solve that by refusing anything under a pallet. We solve it by keeping the set-up small and charging fairly for the units, so a first run of 50 is possible and a run of 500 is cheaper per unit.

What "format depending" means

Fifty is the floor for shakers and jars. Pouches and sachets usually need a larger run because the film is printed or cut to order, so the minimum there is set by the packaging, not by us, and we tell you the number before you commit. Foodservice tubs and bulk by weight have no unit minimum at all: you order by the kilo.

What you can do with 50 units

Test a product on your own counter or website. Send samples to buyers. Take a new flavour to a market before you commit to a range. Fill a first wholesale order from a stockist who wants to try you. Fifty units is enough to learn whether something sells, and small enough that being wrong costs you a week, not a year.

What changes as you grow

Nothing about the recipe. Every batch is checked against the retained reference sample and the ingredients come from the same source each time, so unit 5,000 tastes like unit 5. The unit price falls with volume, printed labels become worth doing, and finished stock can be held and called off against your forecast rather than delivered all at once.

The other minimums people ask about

There is no minimum opening order on wholesale of our own brands: the first order is paid upfront and 30-day terms start from the second. There is no minimum on packaging supplied alongside a blend; it is quoted to the quantity you need. There is no minimum on samples: first samples come within a week of the brief.

From 50 units. No upper limit. Tell us what you want to make.
